Vintage Transport

Vintage Transport is a part time venture designed to educaterecognizehonor, and to get to know. My goal is to educate interested individuals of the heroism of a generation that fought for this country when the world needed them the most.  I hope that the little information presented will highlight the U.S. Navy's participation in the Pacific during WWII.  Secondly, I will recognize  an individual, his unit, and his machines that served heroically on a small atoll in the Gilbert Islands, the island of Tarawa.  Another goal of mine is to recognize other service members and their contributions to this country during this period.

My way of showing thanks to all who served and to honor their participation is by artwork that I had drawn for my father when he was alive.  Included in this site are the aircraft that the Navy and Marine Corps flew to defeat the Japanese in the Pacific.  One of these pen and ink drawings was drawn for a very important person in my life that flew the B-17 Flying Fortress over Europe for the Eighth Air Force. Presented to him by his daughter on Father's Day, it was a wonderful way for her to honor her father in her own special way.

Thank you all for your many sacrifices that were obvious and for the countless efforts that went unrecognized. Thanks to you, we live in the safest and strongest country in the world.

I would like to get to know other participants in the theater of the Pacific that served during the period, or their family members, so that I can be more educated and familiar with the people who served.  A Guest Book is incorporated for veterans to be recognized. Ultimately I would like to include other photos and stories of sailors, Marines, and soldiers that served during this war.

Please continue by examining my website further and go to About Us, History, Art, Gallery and Guestbook.
